Exploitation of new possibilities
Previously when creating multiple functions, part development for each function was carried out independently. With module development, each section of the vehicle, such as the instrument panel or front end, is a module (collection of functions), and module development is defined as "considering all component parts together in order to achieve the required functions, creating the optimal allocation of functions to each part, and eliminating unnecessary component parts while working to improve the level of function." Module development not only results in improved quality (rigidity, vibration, noise, fit & finish, etc.), cost, and delivery time, as well as environmental benefits, but also improves workability and servicing performance in the field.
We promote functional integration by parts combination, making use of high shape freedom of plastics. Modularization including functional integration has effects such as weight reduction and improvements in quality, service performance improvements, craftsmanship, and ergonomics.
We work toward the development of plant producing plastic materials with the objective of departing from dependence on oil resources, in addition to improvements in the fuel economy of vehicles by weight reduction. We also improve existing methods while developing new methods, with an eye toward reductions in industrial waste in product molding and machining processes.
The weight reduction of auto parts is promoted with the objective of reducing CO2 emissions through improvements in fuel efficiency. We work toward the resinification of high heat resistant parts which were previously enabled only by metal and of automotive structural parts which require high strength, with our unique materials and method development.
We, involved in automotive manufacturing, have worked toward the development of various safety parts with the objective of protecting a vehicle's occupants. In addition, we are continuously developing parts for ensuring pedestrian safety and addressing challenges of active safety to prevent accidents from happening.
